To help our students learn faster and more successfully, we use authentic English language learning materials; popular coursebooks published by recognised EFL/ESL publishers, including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, HarperCollins, Pearson Education and Macmillan Education; British GCSE/A-Level English Language and Literature materials; as well as teaching materials designed by our highly qualified and experienced teachers.
We encourage our students to join the clubs run by local libraries, museums and educational establishments in Cambridge. This is a really good way to practise your English language skills in real-life settings. For example, our students can join The Really Popular Book Club hosted by Cambridge University Libraries to practise their reading and communicative skills in discussions with other book lovers.
When enrolled in a General English course, you will be guided by a tutor who will support you throughout your learning journey. During the course, you will develop your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills, practise grammar rules and expand your vocabulary in various topics. The course work includes online practice tests, tutor-marked assignments and end-of-module assessment. Your tutor will open module sessions every week or every two weeks to help you gradually progress through the study materials.
Our General English courses are particularly useful as additional language practice for those who are preparing for Cambridge English exams or similar international English language exams that are used to attest one’s English language proficiency level for academic purposes (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL). At the end of a General English course, you will take an online exam at your level (A1-C2) to get an English language proficiency certificate from Cambridge International School of English.
Our courses have been accredited by Oxford TESOL Accreditation Centre (Accreditation Number: 6172186222).
We also offer online A1-C1 English exams for non-native speakers of English who are planning to apply for a job in an international company or move to an English-speaking country for work or further studies.
